Bolgatanga is a large town in the Northeastern Region of Ghana. Just outside the town lay dozens of small villages, many of which have differing languages and customs. One commonality between many of these villages is the fact that the women supplement family incomes by weaving baskets using locally-grown straw called “Elephant Grass."
